Fund raising becomes key to save wild lands. In the case of the wild land here, it is also an historical landmark: Click here to see a photo
Just like we--the global public-- need to support science research in our own regions, we also need to aid local conservation efforts. The California, USA Hollywood sign is given as an example.
You can save wild lands near you. Does every house need 5 acres, or, can deer, bear, opossums, otters, all kinds of plants, mushrooms, birds, insects and other organisms also have a place to live?
This land needing conserving is in California, but, all over the world, deforestation occurs. Help save a piece near you. Conserve water and energy and land and quiet... Thank you.

Outdoors in Teaneck, NJ: Teaneck Creek Conservancy

Here is a quote from the Teaneck Creek Conservancy that I believe Read-about-it: International Science Literacy and Science Education readers will enjoy because it shows people taking action to preserve the environment.
Weed Warriors: Work alone or in a group and help the Conservancy maintain a invasive-free buffer zone on either side of its trails. Groups meet and work together on Wednesdays and Sunday mornings.

Fight invasive species.
Enjoy the biology of the region.
Relax.
Learn.
Have fun.
What are you doing to give back to the environment? What parks and conservancies in your area need volunteers to fight invasive species among other tasks?
Please share your experiences at this conservancy and/or at parks and conservancies near you.
